Defrosting Advice for Boneless Turkey Breast Joint

  1. Defrost in the fridge (bottom shelf, away from ready-to-eat foods):
    • Keep the joint in its original packaging or place in a leak-proof container.
    • Allow approximately 6–24 hours, depending on the size and thickness.
    • Ensure the meat is fully thawed before cooking—check for no ice crystals in the centre.
  2. Cold water method (if needed):
    • Keep the joint in a sealed, leak-proof bag.
    • Submerge in cold water, changing the water every 30 minutes.
    • Allow around 30 minutes per 500g.
    • Cook immediately after thawing.
  3. Important safety tips:
    • Never defrost at room temperature.
    • Do not refreeze once thawed.
    • Cook immediately after defrosting or store in the fridge for up to 2 days.
